You don't have to type. AI Peeps supports both voice messages and real-time voice chat.
Voice messages vs voice chat
- Voice messages — you record a message, it's understood, and your Peep replies. Asynchronous, like a voice note.
- Voice chat — a live, back-and-forth voice conversation: you speak into your mic, and your Peep's reply is spoken back to you.
Turn any message into voice
You don't have to record anything to hear your Peep. Tap a message bubble — or an action — and then the 🔊 icon, and that line gets spoken aloud as voice.
Cost and allowance
Each voice message uses one voice token — basically, one generated voice message.
Subscribers get a monthly audio allowance of these tokens, and it's used first: your allowance is spent before any PeepCoins. Once it runs out — or on the free plan — each voice message costs 3 PeepCoins.
| Plan | Monthly audio allowance |
|---|---|
| Starter | 0 |
| Pal | 600 |
| Pro | 2800 |
📌 Note
On the free plan the audio allowance is 0 — you can still use voice by spending PeepCoins.
Troubleshooting voice
Voice has two halves, and either can misbehave depending on your device:
- Microphone → text (your speech being understood) isn't supported in every browser.
- Reply → speech (hearing your Peep) works in most browsers.
If voice isn't working:
- Try a different, up-to-date browser.
- Make sure the site has permission to use your microphone.
- Check that your device isn't muted and the right output is selected.
